On January 15, 2015 the Alaska Airlines Basketball Tournament began. West Anchorage High School hosted the tournament, which included two teams from Florida, a team from Nevada, former AA champ East Hall from Georgia, as well as Colony, Kodiak and East. The tournament kicked off with the first game at 12:45pm, which was West Vs. Kodiak.

“The Nest”, and most of the gym, was filled with students. Fans were cheering loudly for their basketball team as they started the game. West dominated the first quarter, and the points kept coming for the West Eagles as the Kodiak Bears could not find any solution of stopping them from scoring and they couldn’t score themselves by only scoring 25 points the whole game.

The Bears would commit a lot of turnovers and would not be good at both ends of the floor. The final Result of the game resulted in West winning 77-25, which was a huge blowout. West kept it’s chance to stay in the Alaska Airlines Tournament by winning the game and advancing to the next game, which is against Nevada’s Coral Academy.
