The “Cheesy” Quesalupa

“It’s what’s on the inside that counts.” We’ve all heard that cheesy phrase before, but is it true? On Monday February 8, 2016, Taco Bell released its newest item to it’s menu, the Quesalupa. The Quesalupa is like a chalupa, but with delicious pepper jack cheese baked right inside the shell. A cheesy shell, filled with seasoned beef, lettuce, tomato, reduced fat sour cream, and you guessed it, even more cheese! If you’re into trying new things, the Quesalupa is a new treat that you don’t want to miss!
Sure, we can all appreciate a pretty shell… but inner beauty? That’s no joke. And if somehow or some way you’re lucky enough to find a keeper with an inner beauty to match, now that’s special. The Quesalupa has the best of both worlds. A soft crust shell with everything a genuine taco would have inside, and with extra cheese? You honestly can’t go wrong with that. “I would recommend this to people who want to try new things because it’s a combination of the quesadilla and chalupa,” said West High senior Leslie Evangelista.
In case people don’t know what a quesadilla or a chalupa is, a quesadilla is a tortilla filled with cheese and a chalupa is a fried tortilla in the shape of a boat, with a spicy filling. When you put those two together, the Quesalupa is born. A tortilla with cheese filled inside the shell formed in a boat formation, and with everything a taco has within the tortilla. The Quesalupa is definitely better than a regular taco.
Taco Bell is well known for their americanised tacos, but because it’s americanised it is also controversial since tacos are supposed to be Mexican food. Some people may like Taco Bell, and then there are some who would never touch food from there. “In case-a you were wondering, it wasn’t that cheesy,” said West High senior Calvin Manalo.
Before the Quesalupa was being sold, Taco Bell was hyping everyone up by leaking its’ idea through social media. It was first seen as a mysterious black box, and people were allowed to pre-order it. Not everyone would agree that the Quesalupa is a new fine item, but it is satisfying at the very least. “It’s not genuine Mexican food, but it is pretty good,” said Evangelista.
“Mexican or not, I would still eat the Quesalupa,” said West High senior Sami Deng.
The Quesalupa has been enjoyed by many customers. Right now the Quesalupa is being well bought, but how long will it last? “It’s a bit overrated. The advertisements were provoking, but I think it’s just the hype” said Manalo. The Quesalupa sure does live up to it’s name for being cheesy, so people should without a doubt try Taco Bell’s new invention. “Why not try it while it’s still famous you know?” said Deng.

I completely forgot about the Quesalupa! I never thought it was a combination of chalupa and quesadilla and now I want to try the food.

I thought it was great you explained the difference between a quesadilla and a chalupa. I personally think it’s overrated but was worth a good try.

Learned a lot about the cheesy quesalupa. Never thought I could enjoy learning about a meal at Toco Bell.
